Lone Tree was founded in 1981 and was incorporated in 1996. Lone Tree is situated on the South East corner of the Denver Metropolitan area at the intersection of I-25 and C470. Lone Tree is adjacent to the newly developed Meridian and Inverness Business Park and is a popular choice for business executives desiring convenience and a nice neighborhood to call home.
The city of Lone Tree offers condos, townhomes and new homes with prices from the 200′s to over a million. Lone Tree neighborhoods are upscale. Heritage Estate is a private, gated golf community with prices starting well over $500,000. Other homes in Lone Tree are above area averages. There are approximately 7500 people living in 2800 housing units.
The city of Lone Tree is adamant about preserving its valuable open space and wildlife habitat, so “urban sprawl” will not become part of the beautiful area.
Lone Tree is located 5-10 minutes south of the Denver Technological Center with a 2002 estimate of 7,460 residents and growing.

Facilities in Lone Tree
There are many trails to walk surrounding the outer boundaries of the City.
The 18 hole golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer in 1985. It opened as a premier, private course, but in 1991 became part of the South Suburban Parks & Recreation Facilities. Lone Tree Golf Club
Lone Tree is home to Park Meadows mall, one of the largest in Denver Metro Area. Park meadows includes stores like Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Dillards, JC Penneys, and Foleys; as well as a large variety of specialty stores.
Lone Tree Schools
Both the middle school and senior high school are located in Highlands Ranch, two miles from Lone Tree and are located in the Douglas County School District.
Douglas County School District, the fastest growing school district in the nation, has a good reputation. Serving Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree with 11 elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.
Six charter schools exist in the district, including the Core Knowledge Charter School. The 17 preschools include a special education preschool that serves as a model training site for the state.
